Washington, DC (PRWEB)—March 27, 2014—Positive Business DC today announced that Jocelyn S. Davis will lead a webinar on how to develop happier workplaces, of interest to individuals and managers alike. Davis, president and co-founder of Nelson Hart, bases her work on the science of positive psychology. During the webinar, Davis will reveal those attributes that enable an organization to outperform the competition by focusing on what its people need to thrive. The one-hour webinar, scheduled for April 2 at noon EST, is Positive Business DC’s eighth event including three online events.
“Managers seeking to create exciting, high performance workplaces will definitely want to attend,” says Marcia Moran, co-founder of Positive Business DC. “It seems that everywhere we turn, companies are clamoring for low-cost way ways to improve outcomes. The research shows that happy people are three times more creative than their less-happy co-workers, which leads to innovation, better execution, and competitive advantages. Our approach is to help people work to their strengths, foster a supportive workplace and community, and recognize people for their contributions.”
The idea of Happiness at Work has gained momentum since Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh first wrote about the benefits of deliberately building healthy cultures in Delivering Happiness. Research shows that happy employees are 31% more productive and generate 37% greater sales than their less engaged counterparts. During the webinar, Davis will reveal key elements related to using happiness at work as a performance metric.
Registration for the Happiness at Work webinar is free and open to all who are interested in the impact positive psychology has on individual performance, leadership, and overall business performance.
