Washington, DC — March 18, 2014 - Positive Business DC today announced that co-founder Shannon Polly, MAPP, was selected to present at the International Day of Happiness free conference sponsored by en*theos, coinciding with the United Nations’ International Day of Happiness. en*theos, a popular website with over 275,000 members, was launched to help people optimize their lives and actualize their potential through providing the best content and tools on “Optimal Living.”
The International Day of Happiness event is featuring 19 speakers with the respected Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) degree held by less than 300 people in the world. Those with a MAPP degree are considered experts in well-being and the application of positive psychology.

Polly, who was part of 4th MAPP Class of 2009, is a leadership development speaker, coach, and former facilitator for the Master Resiliency Training (MRT) program for the U.S. Army, the largest consumer of positive psychology in the world, as well as a co-founder of PBDC. She will be speaking on best practices in using appreciative inquiry as a change management tool in a session titled, “The Only Thing Constant is Change Management.”

Shannon has been an assistant instructor in the MAPP program at the University of Pennsylvania and has lectured at Columbia Business School, West Point and the Wharton School of Business. She has been published in international appreciative inquiry journals, is a contributor to the book, Positive Psychology at Work, and is published along side Dr. Martin Seligman in The European Handbook of Positive Psychology. In addition, she has trained over 1,000 Army sergeants in psychological resilience at Army bases all over the country.
