“Improv for the Business Stage” gives people the freedom to be themselves at work. Kat Koppett, an expert in the fields of Organizational Psychology and Applied Improv, will share the secrets for improving culture, productivity, and well-being in the workplace while being comfortable and having fun along the way.
October 29, 2013—Positive Business DC today announced that Kat Koppett will teach people how to use improv to produce positive business outcomes. The Webinar, scheduled for October 30 at noon EST is Positive Business DC’s first online event.
Koppett holds a B.F.A. in Drama from New York University and an M.A. in Organization Psychology from Columbia University. She is recognized as an authority in the field of Applied Improv. Koppett’s book, Training to Imagine: Practical Improvisational Theater Techniques to Enhance Creativity, Teamwork, Leadership, and Learning is used by businesses and acting professionals around the world. Her work inspires business leaders to improve company culture in way that increases productivity and well-being in the workplace.
“We are all performers,” Koppett says. “Successful professionals in any field, just like accomplished actors, are in command of their presence, clear about their objectives, and connected to their audience. Learning improv helps people to use the flexibility, range, and creativity that they naturally possess to achieve their most important goals.”
“We are extremely excited to have an expert of Kat’s caliber deliver our first Webinar,” says Shannon Polly, co-founder of Positive Business DC. “What’s important about this topic is that people already improvise in every interaction they have in work and in life. No one is given a script when they wake up in the morning. Our goal is to give people tools that build awareness for how to make the most of every interaction. This awareness creates authentic conversations in a way that is fun and also takes fear off the table.”
During the Webinar, Koppett will share tips and exercises to help attendees increase workplace happiness, flexibility, influence, courage, and performance range. Registration for Improv for the Business Stage is free. To ‘warm up’ for the Webinar, you can check out Tips for Facilitating Improv (& Other Experiential Activities) in Organizations.
